Supporting ASD & ADHD Through Exercise Physiology
Celebrating Unique Minds Through Movement
Understanding Neurodivergence
Neurodivergence refers to the natural variation in how people’s brains function and process information. This includes conditions like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which affect how individuals experience, interact with, and respond to the world around them. At Wellness Station, we recognise and celebrate these differences, aiming to provide a supportive environment for neurodivergent individuals of all ages.

Our Approach to Exercise Physiology for ASD & ADHD
We believe that exercise is a powerful tool for enhancing the well-being of neurodivergent individuals. Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists design tailored movement programs that address the unique needs of people with ASD and ADHD. We focus on:
Personalised assessment: Understanding each individual’s strengths, challenges, and sensory preferences.
Goal-oriented planning: Setting achievable, meaningful goals—whether it’s improving focus, building social confidence, or enhancing motor skills.
Supportive environment: Creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can move, explore, and thrive at their own pace.— Squarespace
Pediatric Neurodivergence
Children and teenagers with ASD or ADHD often face unique challenges with movement, social interaction, and emotional regulation. Our pediatric exercise physiology services are designed to:
Make movement fun and accessible: Activities are adapted to each child’s interests and sensory needs—whether it’s dancing, playing games, or gentle stretching.
Promote self-esteem and confidence: Success in physical activities helps children feel good about themselves and builds resilience.
Encourage social engagement: Group sessions offer a safe space to practice social skills and teamwork in a low-pressure setting.
Support emotional well-being: Exercise can help children manage overstimulation, regulate emotions, and improve sleep.
We also work closely with families and carers, providing guidance on how to support children’s movement at home and in the community.
If you or your child are neurodivergent and want to explore the benefits of exercise, contact Wellness Station to learn how we can help you move, grow, and thrive.
